Hi everyone! I'm Destiny and I'd like to give you a big warm welcome to 2017! I've decided that this year I want to be much more proactive with my reading, something I loved as a child, and so I'm going to be participating in a number of reading challenges in order to help me try and achieve my goal of at least 52 books this year! On this blog, you will be able to follow my journey: following my progress, seeing what I'm reading, my opinions on the books I've read and the ones that I would truly recommend. This year is going to be an absolute whirlwind and that's why I'm so glad that I can share it with you!
This year, I'm going to be participating in a number of challenges (as I have already stated) because I really want to get hustling on finishing off my TBR shelf. Below is a list of the challenges I've chosen and maybe even a reason why!
The first challenge that I have chosen is the Alphabet Soup Challenge! This sounds super duper fun as I know I have a tendency to pick out similar titles. This challenge will hopefully help me clear out my TBR shelf as I have so many different books!
The second challenge that I have chosen in the Colour Coded Challenge! This challenge is interesting and as I haven't come across many books with colours in their names, I thought it might be fun to look for some.
The third challenge that I have chosen is the European Countries Challenge. This challenge will definitely live up to it's name and will probably require a lot of research but I feel that I read too many American authors and it will be fun to read from their potentially more obscure European counterparts.
The fourth challenge I have chosen (bare with me) is the Shelf Love Challenge. I have so many books that have been sitting on my TBR shelf for years and I'd really love to finish these! I have over 55 TBR books at the moment so I'm hoping to hit the top goal of 51+
The fifth challenge I have chosen is the Read The Books You Buy Challenge. This challenge addresses my main problem with books: I buy them excessively and then never read them! I'm hoping to read all the books I buy in 2017!
I will also be signing up for a Pages Read Challenge (hoping to read over 36,000 pages this year) and a challenge called You Read How Many Books for which I'm hoping to read at least 100 books for!
It definitely looks like I've got my work cut out for me, but I never make things easy for myself! I hope that you'll enjoy following my challenges over this year and I hope that your 2017 is just as bookish as mine!
